Victoria Branch of Shito-Ryu Karate The club has been in operation in Victoria since September 2002. The club chief instructor is Sensei James McCarthy. Sensei McCarthy is a 5th degree black belt (5th Dan) with 24 years of experience teaching karate to students of all ages, physical abilities and experience levels. Before moving to Victoria, Sensei McCarthy taught for many years at his school (dojo) in Gibsons BC, north of Vancouver. Read more
